About JDRF
Founded in 2017 by Michael Rielly, the James D. Rielly Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, all-volunteer organization supported through public donations, grants, and other charitable contributions, and operated exclusively for charitable purposes.
The staff and board of the foundation enjoy being a part of the community and often become directly involved with recipient organizations to better support and promote their efforts.
The James D. Rielly Foundation believes in giving back to the community. We believe helping those in need will inspire others to do the same and in turn, improve the quality of life for all. While efforts are focused within Rhode Island and Southern New England, the board is willing to consider requests from outside of the targeted geographical region.
Mission
In honor of his kindness and charitable works, the James D. Rielly Foundation was established in his name to preserve his legacy and provide charitable and emotional support to children and families connected to our military, law enforcement, and first responders who are facing financial hardship, illness, loss, or other life challenges.
Vision
To build a future where children and families connected to our military, law enforcement, and first responders feel supported, cared for, and never alone in life’s hardest moments.
“Have I done any good in the world today? Have I helped anyone in need? Have I cheered up the sad? Made someone feel glad? If not, I have failed indeed.”
